Moses is in the cloud receiving the rest of the Torah instruction. Is this the beginning of the "Oral Torah"? Where does the Oral Torah stand against the Written Word? That's something to look at. We'll also start digging into some of the instructions contained in this week's portion.
Moses descends from the cloud and gives the people the words of Adonai. Their answer? "What the LORD has said, we will do". How did that work out? How does it work out for us when we profess obedience?
Please join us as we dig into the word of Adonai.

⁣Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives? For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage. Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress.
Romans 7:1-3 ESV

Related passages from the Old Testament (re the High Priest and levirate marriage) as well as the Greek word for a woman "which has a husband" (KJV) in Romans 7:2 shed significant light on Paul's meaning in this passage. Here's a hint: It does not say that the Law dies or that the commandments in the Law are not for all Christians today. It's about authority relationships, not the applicability of Torah.

Deuteronomy 25:5-10 and Leviticus 21:4.

I feel like this track is similar to what you might have heard if you walked into ancient Jerusalem and heard some musicians busking on the street. "Shabbat Shalom" is a classic sung by thousands if not millions on many a Sabbath day. We hope you enjoy our rendition with the Native American flute!

A Shofar is like an alarm clock.

It is literally a global awakening.

"Blow the shofar at the new Moon sound an alarm in Zion.
It is a statute for Israel, a rule of the God of Jacob."
see: Ps 81:3 & Joel 2:1

Send an email to register@campephraim.org
Subject: next to new Moon
And then:
Let's sound the alarm together...

Is there any better way to prepare for the coming of the King of Kings than doing it together with praise and worship?

Please sound the alarm together with us and invite your friends...

A Shofar is like an alarm clock.
It is literally a global awakening.

Around the world men and women of faith are setting their alarm clocks
to not miss this awesome opportunity.
At the same time each one blows the shofar from their country and at the
same same time we sound the alarm together in Zion through Jitsi.

So why are we doing all this?
Simply because it says:

"Blow the Shofar at the new Moon sound an alarm in Zion.
It is a statute for Israel, a rule of the God of Jacob."
see: Ps 81:3 & Joel 2:1

How does it work?
It's very simple:

Send an email to register@campephraim.org
In the header you write: next to new Moon
And then all you have to write is:
Let's sound the alarm together...

In reply you get the time and the link for our next Jitsi meeting.
Once you got the link, all you gotta do is: set your alarm clock, grab
your Shofar and click on the link.

You can actually choose to switch off your camera, if you prefer.
That is because we are going to record the meeting and post it on social
media, to encourage others to join.

Right after blowing the Shofar, we cite the greatest commandment
together. First and Hebrew then in English, and we'll go straight into
worship with worship leaders from around the world for sometime
afterwards,
while at the same time the chat is open for prayer and praises.

Is there any better way to prepare for the coming of the King of Kings
than doing it together with praise and worship?

Please sound the alarm together with us and invite your friends...

Remember it's very simple:

write: next new moon and
let's sound the alarm together...

⁣What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:1-4 ESV

What does it mean to be dead to sin and baptized into Yeshua's death? Was his death a sacrificial offering like those performed at the Temple?

The Common Sense Bible Study community explores these questions and the power of Jesus' blood in this video.

*** This is not my video, but I believe it is worth watching as he covers some interesting points in this short video. ***

Every language today has their own way of saying the name ‘Jesus’—English speakers say Jesus, Spanish speakers say /xeˈsus/, German speakers say /ˈjeːzʊs/, French speakers say /ʒe.zy/, Chinese speakers say 耶穌 yēsū, Korean speakers say 예수 [je̞sʰu], and Arabic speakers say يسوع [jasuːʕ]. But how was it pronounced in the first century? Or, in other words, how did Jesus pronounce his own name? Many different websites out there have all sorts of reconstructions of how Jesus’s name should be pronounced or how Jesus’s name was pronounced in ancient times. But let’s look together at the first-century evidence to find out how it really was pronounced. For the full blog post on this topic (with references), see https://biblicalhebrew.com/how....-did-jesus-pronounce FREE video lessons in Biblical Hebrew and related languages, visit https://www.BiblicalHebrew.com.To follow us on Facebook, go to: https://www.facebook.com/bibhebrew.To follow us on Twitter, go to: https://www.twitter.com/bibhebrew.

This week, we take a look at Galatians 4. A lot has been written about this letter of Paul and how it says we are "free" from keeping the Torah. Is that what it really says? Let's take another look at it.
Justification by Faith is the theme, so where does "the law" fit in?
We can't "Go Forth" if we don't have direction, can we?

⁣Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
Romans 1:22-23 ESV

If there is a single, ultimate Creator of the universe, then he logically must be infinitely powerful, infinitely wise. He would be terrifying beyond our imagination with standards higher than we could ever reach...so we set our sights lower. We ignore the Creator and worship creatures because they don't demand anything too big. We can make them weak and flawed, just like us, and then pat ourselves on the back for how great we are.
