⁣"Be Thou My Vision" is one of the most well know hymns of all time and for good reason. It's Celtic melody is one of the most beautiful masterpieces of music. Because Aromem wishes for there to be peace and fellowship between the Native American peoples and all people around the world, we continue to symbolize that fellowship by joining native instruments with others to make a sweet offering of praise to the creator Yahuwah.

King David -


David is described in the Hebrew Bible as the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel and Judah. In the biblical narrative, David is a young shepherd who first gains fame as a musician and later by killing Goliath.

Historians of the Ancient Near East agree that David probably existed around 1000 BCE, but that there is little that can be said about him as a historical figure.

David is richly represented in post-biblical Jewish written and oral tradition, and is discussed in the New Testament. Early Christians interpreted the life of Jesus in light of the references to the Messiah and to David; Jesus is described as being descended from David. David is discussed in the Quran and figures in Islamic oral and written tradition as well. The biblical character of David has inspired many interpretations in fictional literature over centuries.

The Hebrew alphabet is made up of 22 letters, which are used to compose the Word of God. The word of God is called a lamp (Psalms 119:105, Proverbs 6:22), thus it is the light by which we are to live. The word light is found 264 times in Scripture. When 264 is divided by 12 (divine authority) we have twenty-two, which represents light. TAV (MARK or SIGN): The copies of All cosmic existence. They carry the likeness of their Father. <br />

The Psalm is arranged in an acrostic pattern. There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet, and this Psalm contains 22 units of 8 verses each. Each of the 22 sections is given to a letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and each line in that section begins with that letter. The closest parallel to this pattern in Scripture is found in Lamentations 3, which is also divided into 22 sections, and there are a few other passages in the Hebrew Scriptures which use an acrostic pattern.<br />
Since this is a Psalm glorifying God and His Word, it refers to Scripture over and over again. The psalm is remarkable for how often it refers to God’s written revelation, His word. It is referred to in almost every verse. <br />

William Cowper authored this hymn in the 1700s. A prolific poet, he would write a poem for John Newton in support of the Abolitionists. This poem would later be quoted by Martin Luther King Jr. We add some ethnic sounding instruments including our ever beloved Native American flute to this amazing song.

My wife said that the tune reminded her of berry picking. I thought about that and decided it was appropriate. When I lived in Alaska we used to pick wild cranberries for jam that my grandfather would adore. It's a very happy memory.
