Psalm 3

Jay Carper

⁣We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.”
Romans 15:1-3 ESV

Who are the strong and the weak? What does it mean for the strong to "bear with the failings" of the weak? It most definitely does not mean that those who have rejected the Law of Moses should be patient with those who are still trying to keep the commandments. That's exactly the opposite of Paul's meaning. Paul was not an antinomian nor even a metanomian.

The Day of Trumpets, also called Yom Teruah, is an ancient Holy Day that prophecies the return of the Messiah. This knowledge has been lost since the first century.

An introduction to the ancient Way of righteousness

Jay Carper
200 Views · 7 months ago

⁣Wild Branch Community read and discussed Exodus 7:19-8:19 and the first three plagues of Egypt.

God doesn't send plagues just to make people suffer. His discipline is always instructive and for our ultimate good. He sent plagues on Egypt to show Egypt, Israel, and the whole world just who he is, who they are in relation to him, and who their false gods really are.

Pharaoh could have saved Egypt at any point, but he valued his own pride and position more than his people. God disciplines those whom he loves, and that discipline almost always spills over onto the people around you, especially those for whom you are responsible. God's love language is obedience, but submission to God doesn't just show love for him. It shows love for your people.

⁣And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.
Romans 11:23-24 ESV

Very few native branches of Israel were left on the tree after the first few centuries of Christianity, so that today both the native and the wild branches need to be grafted back into the olive tree of Israel. God has promised that he will restore the genetic descendants of Jacob, and he has the power to do it!

This video has been produced to honor a dear friend of us, David Fraher.
The song in the video was not part of our repertoire, We didn't think to perform it and we even didn't think to share it online.

David and his team liked it and shared it on Arts Midwest youtube channel.
Surprisingly the video turned to be our second most viewed video.
It reached over a half million views and got lots of nice comments.

So perhaps it is the time for this video to be shared on our youtube channel.
An old Israeli song performed by the pioneering youth movements that spread during the 1940s and 1950s.( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAP5k6_z-dg)
lyrics from Jewish sources. - The book of Samuel 1, composers: Matityahu Shalem, Eliyahu Gamliel.

Thanks to Avri Borochov who made this song fresh, cool and attractive once again.

King David -

David is described in the Hebrew Bible as the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel and Judah. In the biblical narrative, David is a young shepherd who first gains fame as a musician and later by killing Goliath.

Historians of the Ancient Near East agree that David probably existed around 1000 BCE, but that there is little that can be said about him as a historical figure.

David is richly represented in post-biblical Jewish written and oral tradition, and is discussed in the New Testament. Early Christians interpreted the life of Jesus in light of the references to the Messiah and to David; Jesus is described as being descended from David. David is discussed in the Quran and figures in Islamic oral and written tradition as well. The biblical character of David has inspired many interpretations in fictional literature over centuries.

⁣Everyone has a story and almost everyone has experienced a moment in which everything changed. Maybe there was a long buildup or maybe it came like a flash flood, but there was a single event or realization that triggered a fundamental shift in world view. For believers in Yeshua, that moment might have been when we realized who he really is or when we realized that some major things we were taught about him and his ministry just weren't true. That's the moment when we began an exodus from our own personal Egypt.

Join the Common Sense Bible Study community at 7 PM CDT on April 4th for a live conversation with Dr. Dinah Dye about her Leaving Egypt experience. Only members of Common Sense Bible Study will be able to participate in this conversation, but membership is free!

Dr. Dye was raised in Ottawa, Canada, in a conservative Jewish home. She attended Hebrew school, celebrated the festivals with her family, and enjoyed summers at an Orthodox Jewish summer camp. Dinah spent her teen years and early twenties deeply involved in the New Age movement. During those years, she came to the belief that truth would be based on three things: it would be easy to understand, it would be for everyone, and it would be based on love. She met that truth in 1979 in Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.

Dinah served in a number of teaching positions with Assemblies of God and was the Director of the Bible Institute for Foursquare International. She has also taught in a variety of media venues including GLC (God’s Learning Channel), Son Broadcasting in New Mexico, and BRAD TV in South Korea.

Dinah recognized the importance of connecting the Gospels and the Epistles to their foundation in the Torah (first five books of the Bible). That understanding led to the creation of her ministry, Foundations in Torah. Dr. Dye holds a DMIN in Hebraic Studies in Christianity and has been teaching the Hebraic foundation of the New Testament for nearly 40 years. Dinah’s teachings are available on her membership website in audio and video formats. She speaks regularly at conferences and for local congregations throughout the United States, Canada, and internationally.

Currently, Dr. Dye hosts a radio show with author Jeff Morton called Returning to Eden, where the two discuss the language of the Kingdom of God from a Biblical and ancient Near Eastern perspective. She also has a weekly TV show on ITVN (Israel TV Network).

Dinah’s real passion is to help students of the Bible recognize the Hebraic nature of the New Testament Scriptures, as well as the ancient Near East world. Dr. Dye’s research revolves around the Temple which she suggests is the framework for understanding the entire Bible.

You can learn more about Dr. Dye at https://dinahdye.com/ and at https://foundationsintorah.com/. You can contact her at dinahdye@protonmail.com.

Messianic Torah Portion Shemot is the beginning of the book of Exodus. This study is prefaced with the origin of the word Exodus and how there will only every be the one Exodus. We spoke about the remarkable parallels between Shemot and the end times. And, as always, why the Torah is so important to the New Testament.

This one is a total slam dunk for us. There is no question the first century church kept Passover. Paul explains Messiah is our Passover and what we just did is as mirrored off the first century church as was can possibly do. This is not so we can be technically accurate, although that is important. But if we are to believe in this faith, we must pattern our lives after it and fully adopt it. Belief must be manifested as a change in behavior and practices.

When and How to Interpret Scripture
The bible is written in a style that us westerners aren’t familiar with. By learning a couple things about how scripture was written and expected to be received, we can glean a lot more truth even in our native languages. This message touches on the way first century believers would have interpreted the Old Testament and subsequently wrote the New. These tips will help you understand the scriptures closer to their original intent, when things are supposed to be taken literally, and when they aren’t. These are very big helps when trying to understand prophecy and the Apostle Paul.

⁣i would like to invite you to observe the biblical commanded new year in
the spring month of Aviv, instead of the ritual for Janus.

Are you aware of reformation 2.0? The holy spirit ruack hakodesh has
compelled and enabled people all over the world to live by every word
that proceeds from the mouth of yahuah (Matthew 4:4) as Paul and the
prophets said that the new covenant is: Hebrews 8:10, Hebrews 10:16, Jeremiah 31:33 and Ezekiel 36:25-27

it only takes a moment for the serpent or a pastor to say that we will
not surely die for violating the laws of yahuah given to us, but it can
take hours to explain the original context and meaning of the bible and
to learn to read and follow the bible takes a lifetime. it only takes a

The bible says that there are great blessings for those who obey the

spreading the gospel of salvation in yahushuah hamashiach as the first
century church did?

⁣Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Romans 13:11-12 ESV

Paul often wrote as if he expected Yeshua to return at any moment. Was he making a false prediction in this passage? Or was he just longing for that day whether it comes tomorrow or in ten thousand years? What did he mean by salvation? What is the night and the day?
