The riches of Exodus 4
It's no secret that masculinity is under attack and has been for a long time. Gentle and creative men are told to man up and stop being sissies. Loud and assertive men are told to stop being so angry and intimidating. Unfortunately, too many men are listening to these voices of the world and are tuning out the unique instructions YHWH has for their own unique lives.

I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish.
Romans 1:14 ESV
The world is chaos and our assignment is to bring spiritual order by restoring people to their Creator. When God gives you a task, he necessarily gives you the authority required to carry out that task. Always keep in mind that such authority is never inherent in the person and that it is always given for the benefit of the Kingdom of God and its citizens.

Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness...
Romans 4:4-5 ESV
Forgiveness of sins and eternal life are gifts of God, granted by his grace alone. Nobody can buy or work their way into eternal life. Eliezer, Ishmael, and Isaac make a great illustration of God's plan.
Eliezer was Abraham's chief servant. He worked for Abraham his whole life, helping him build his wealth and watch out for his family. If Abraham had died without children, Eliezer would have been his heir according to the traditions of man. He was a faithful servant, but his inheritance would have been the wages of his own efforts.
Ishmael was Abraham's firstborn son according to the flesh. However, he was also the son of a slave. If Abraham had not had another son by a free wife, Ishmael would have inherited God's covenant as Abraham's firstborn, displacing Eliezer, in accordance with the laws of both man and biology.
Isaac was a child of promise, conceived through miraculous intervention. Sarah's time in Abimelech's house might cast a shadow over Isaac's right of inheritance as Abraham's biological son, but God's decree overrides anything man might do. Isaac inherited the covenant promises of Abraham because God intervened and made it happen, apart from any natural or man-made law, and Abraham believed him.
This is an image of our salvation, which is granted by divine intervention according to our belief in God's promises.

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:20-21 ESV
God didn't give Moses his Law in order to create sin where it didn't exist before, but to magnify the sin we were already committing, so that nobody could deny it. Once we are made aware of our sin by the witness of the written commandments, we are also made aware of our need for God's grace.
Adam's sin brought death to all men, and that corruption leads all men to sin, subjecting them to the power of sin and death, which is the power of the Law to condemn. On the other hand, Yeshua's death enables God's grace to forgive our sin, releasing us from the Law's power to condemn, but not from its power to teach us right from wrong.

Who was it that Moses spoke with in the bush that burned? Was it on fire? Is there something else going on here, and what lessons can we learn from this week's Torah portion? Come join us as we find out together.
Pharoah sends out the children of Israel (along with the mixed multitude). Moses gets baptized. Miriam and the woman dance a song of victory. The miracle of the Red Sea crossing. There is so much to look at this week.
Please join us as we dig into the word of Adonai.
Moses is in the cloud receiving the rest of the Torah instruction. Is this the beginning of the "Oral Torah"? Where does the Oral Torah stand against the Written Word? That's something to look at. We'll also start digging into some of the instructions contained in this week's portion.
Moses descends from the cloud and gives the people the words of Adonai. Their answer? "What the LORD has said, we will do". How did that work out? How does it work out for us when we profess obedience?
Please join us as we dig into the word of Adonai.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.
Romans 7:21-23 ESV
For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
Romans 8:2-3 ESV
Paul seems to bounce back and forth between different laws and spirits even in the same verse. It can get very confusing. Is he talking about the same law? A different one? Is this spirit the Holy Spirit or something else?
It's helpful to understand that Paul talks about at least 4 different kinds of laws and at least 4 different kinds of spirits. There isn't always a clear line between these different categories, but knowing that they exist can bring a lot of clarity to confusing passages like Romans 7 and 8.

Do you struggle with life's problems? Do you feel like this life is hopeless?
Did you know that the patriarchs sometimes felt the same way?
Our Heavenly Father wants us to live a life that is full. Yet it seems like the problems of "every day" can wear us down. Is there an answer?
The principal source outside the bible showing the Jesus the Christ, aka Yeshua the Messiah, existed and was resurrected.
Everyone has a story and almost everyone has experienced a moment in which everything changed. Maybe there was a long buildup or maybe it came like a flash flood, but there was a single event or realization that triggered a fundamental shift in world view. For believers in Yeshua, that moment might have been when we realized who he really is or when we realized that some major things we were taught about him and his ministry just weren't true. That's the moment when we began an exodus from our own personal Egypt.
Join the Common Sense Bible Study community at 7 PM CDT on April 4th for a live conversation with Dr. Dinah Dye about her Leaving Egypt experience. Only members of Common Sense Bible Study will be able to participate in this conversation, but membership is free!
Dr. Dye was raised in Ottawa, Canada, in a conservative Jewish home. She attended Hebrew school, celebrated the festivals with her family, and enjoyed summers at an Orthodox Jewish summer camp. Dinah spent her teen years and early twenties deeply involved in the New Age movement. During those years, she came to the belief that truth would be based on three things: it would be easy to understand, it would be for everyone, and it would be based on love. She met that truth in 1979 in Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.
Dinah served in a number of teaching positions with Assemblies of God and was the Director of the Bible Institute for Foursquare International. She has also taught in a variety of media venues including GLC (God’s Learning Channel), Son Broadcasting in New Mexico, and BRAD TV in South Korea.
Dinah recognized the importance of connecting the Gospels and the Epistles to their foundation in the Torah (first five books of the Bible). That understanding led to the creation of her ministry, Foundations in Torah. Dr. Dye holds a DMIN in Hebraic Studies in Christianity and has been teaching the Hebraic foundation of the New Testament for nearly 40 years. Dinah’s teachings are available on her membership website in audio and video formats. She speaks regularly at conferences and for local congregations throughout the United States, Canada, and internationally.
Currently, Dr. Dye hosts a radio show with author Jeff Morton called Returning to Eden, where the two discuss the language of the Kingdom of God from a Biblical and ancient Near Eastern perspective. She also has a weekly TV show on ITVN (Israel TV Network).
Dinah’s real passion is to help students of the Bible recognize the Hebraic nature of the New Testament Scriptures, as well as the ancient Near East world. Dr. Dye’s research revolves around the Temple which she suggests is the framework for understanding the entire Bible.
You can learn more about Dr. Dye at https://dinahdye.com/ and at https://foundationsintorah.com/. You can contact her at dinahdye@protonmail.com.

This week, we look at an overview of the Biblical Spring Feasts.
Did you know that there's much more to this topic than simply Passover? This season is a very powerful one Biblically and Prophetically. Let's unravel some calendar issues, look at some historical background, and dig in to the Word of God.
