Restoring a pure language – that’s not today and we’re not going to do that on our own.
Genesis 11:1 Trying to do this ourselves is likely prohibited. We know that when mankind tries to act like YHVH, He is not pleased. The verse from Isaiah about rebuilding Jerusalem better. Isaiah 9:8-11 when Ephraim and the Samarians say in their heart ehy will rebuild Israel better, it is considered from pride and self-will, thus YHVH sends adversaries to smite them more. By extension, we should realize that until He wants language restored, it will not happen.
That doesn’t mean we don’t try to learn what the ancients were communicating, but we need to be cognizant of pride, our motivations, and the reality of our present state. While we can learn a lot from studying, we need to realize they were in a state of flux as well. It’s Genesis 11 where mankind had a unified language. That means Moses did not.
Entropy is a word that means chaos or disorder always increases. This is often illustrated by dropping a perfect pile of marbles on the ground to see how the marbles that travel the furthest have the largest deviation from the original pile. Our present state of language is an enormous illustration of this. I recently found a fun YouTube channel called RobWords. This gentleman traces the history of languages throughout history. What I learned, and should have already known, is that our English alphabet isn’t the English alphabet at all. It’s the Latin alphabet. The English alphabet is a set of characters called runes. I know English is a mutt of a language, but I found the extent of this to be astonishing. I have put a link to one of Rob’s videos in the comments and hope you find time to watch. I’ve watched a number of his presentations and am floored each time. But it reminds me that for us in our present state of perpetual confusion to think we have some miniscule chance at restoring the pure language ourselves is absolute folly.

The other remarkable illustration of this is rooted in the restoration of the nation of Judah which is called Israel today. A member of our group sent this video to me about two years ago. When the Jews from all over the world returned to Israel, they set about recording how those who had kept Hebrew alive pronounced the language. Not surprising at all, but the different regions spoke the language significantly different from each other. This video illustrates some of the differences, which even persist to this day. Of course, we all know that languages are not static from English. The Australians and British have distinctly different accents and inside of the US, we have widely varying accents ourselves. Somehow, though, we get it into our minds that Hebrew is immune from change when it certainly is not.

I hope you all find some time to watch these videos. A couple takeaways from today’s message are that we should really be aware of our present state and set realistic goals for our studies. The expectation that we get the pronunciations perfect today simply is not true. We also need to be wary of shunning legitimate scholars and history in our studies. We have a tendency to do this because of how skewed Christianity has become by academia and clergy, but let’s not throw out the baby with the bathwater. Good and edifying information is out there, even if it takes a bit of work to find it.
Have a blessed week as we begin or continue our preparations for this year’s Passover season. May Yahweh bless you and keep you in the Name of His Son, Yeshua.

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:1-4 ESV
What does it mean to be dead to sin and baptized into Yeshua's death? Was his death a sacrificial offering like those performed at the Temple?
The Common Sense Bible Study community explores these questions and the power of Jesus' blood in this video.

Shabbat 7-1-23
This week's Torah portion was about the garments of the High Priest. Our High Priest (Yeshua, a priest forever. after the order of Melech Tzeddik) wears the same garments. And not only is He our High Priest, He is also our Great Shepherd. What do shepherds do? They protect the flock.
This week's teaching is about what we need to be protected from.

What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
Romans 7:7 ESV
Reference also, James 2:8-13, Leviticus 19:13-18, and Exodus 20:13-14.
Paul plainly and strongly asserts that we are not to continue in sin once we have been saved by grace. We are not beneath the Law, but we are to live in agreement with it, because the Law tells us what sin is. Not just the ten commandments, but the whole Law, because as James explains, the Law is indivisible. If you break a commandment in Leviticus 19, it is just as much a sin as breaking a commandment in Exodus 20.

Original Christianity
One of the hardest things to come by today is truth. Everyone is lined up on each side of issues, minds are made up, and very few people take the time to research and have a dialogue. This leads to a lot of friction and good ideas never considered at all because they come from “the other side”. In practical life, this is not making our society better at all. In fact, the opposite is happening.
When it comes to learning about Christianity, this “us versus them” paradigm has been in place for a really long time. But how does one learn real, original Christianity today? The internet is flooded with information. From videos to podcasts to blogs to books, it’s complete information overload. How does one even choose which of the many Bible translations to read? To try and provide a path forward, I have made a series of videos meant to teach you how to read the bible and come to faith the same way the early converts did. This series does not force feed a bunch of doctrine but empowers you to be able to come to the truth on your own. The original Christians were not intended to learn everything at once, but rather begin a lifelong journey of learning how to love God and live the way His Son, Jesus did.
These messages are for people who are curious about original Christianity and want to learn truth without the baggage of the last 1850 years. If you want to learn how Christianity was intended to be received by the early converts, this is the place to be. Please watch them in the order presented because they build on each other. This will help you start your studies with a solid foundation. If you aren’t new to Christianity but are wondering why modern Christianity seems so different from that of the bible, these messages will help you to sift the wheat from the chaff and draw nearer to God and His Son.
Thanks for your time. Please drop a line if these messages help you and be sure to share them with friends and family. The nature of the world shows us change is coming. People have questions and want to know about eternal life. Let’s help spread that knowledge.
The series of messages is available at https://firstcenturychristiani....ty.net/original-chri
Everyone has a story and almost everyone has experienced a moment in which everything changed. Maybe there was a long buildup or maybe it came like a flash flood, but there was a single event or realization that triggered a fundamental shift in world view. For believers in Yeshua, that moment might have been when we realized who he really is or when we realized that some major things we were taught about him and his ministry just weren't true. That's the moment when we began an exodus from our own personal Egypt.
Join the Common Sense Bible Study community at 7 PM CDT on April 4th for a live conversation with Dr. Dinah Dye about her Leaving Egypt experience. Only members of Common Sense Bible Study will be able to participate in this conversation, but membership is free!
Dr. Dye was raised in Ottawa, Canada, in a conservative Jewish home. She attended Hebrew school, celebrated the festivals with her family, and enjoyed summers at an Orthodox Jewish summer camp. Dinah spent her teen years and early twenties deeply involved in the New Age movement. During those years, she came to the belief that truth would be based on three things: it would be easy to understand, it would be for everyone, and it would be based on love. She met that truth in 1979 in Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.
Dinah served in a number of teaching positions with Assemblies of God and was the Director of the Bible Institute for Foursquare International. She has also taught in a variety of media venues including GLC (God’s Learning Channel), Son Broadcasting in New Mexico, and BRAD TV in South Korea.
Dinah recognized the importance of connecting the Gospels and the Epistles to their foundation in the Torah (first five books of the Bible). That understanding led to the creation of her ministry, Foundations in Torah. Dr. Dye holds a DMIN in Hebraic Studies in Christianity and has been teaching the Hebraic foundation of the New Testament for nearly 40 years. Dinah’s teachings are available on her membership website in audio and video formats. She speaks regularly at conferences and for local congregations throughout the United States, Canada, and internationally.
Currently, Dr. Dye hosts a radio show with author Jeff Morton called Returning to Eden, where the two discuss the language of the Kingdom of God from a Biblical and ancient Near Eastern perspective. She also has a weekly TV show on ITVN (Israel TV Network).
Dinah’s real passion is to help students of the Bible recognize the Hebraic nature of the New Testament Scriptures, as well as the ancient Near East world. Dr. Dye’s research revolves around the Temple which she suggests is the framework for understanding the entire Bible.
You can learn more about Dr. Dye at https://dinahdye.com/ and at https://foundationsintorah.com/. You can contact her at dinahdye@protonmail.com.

A special Hanukkah/Shabbat service focused on the prophetic and rich meaning of the Feast of Dedication. Is your temple in disarray? Have you allowed "things" to pollute your temple? Hard questions and hard answers.
With fasting, sackcloth, and ashes I turned my face to YHVH Elohim to seek him in prayer and to plead for grace. Daniel 9:3
This is an excerpt from our study on John 5. The KJV translators purposely manipulated the text at John 5 to introduce doctrines the bible doesn't support. They actually changed the words of Jesus, aka Yeshua, to things He did not say. They did this to make people believe doctrines of men. Today, people making Sacred Name bibles and Hebrew Roots bibles are doing this same thing. This video shows those lies and how to quickly evaluate a bible for accuracy at two specific places.
