During Yeshua's day, the religious leaders, and society for that matter, meant one thing when they said an eye for an eye. However, Yeshua's Torah taught something different when it is read in context. It refers to specific situations. In today's society still that phrase is used out of context. If it was used in context there is no way for that phrase to leave the world blind, as they say: but even if it did leave the world blind, blind the world ought to be as God's law is good. This video explores that phrase and answers those questions.

I've always heard this command in Exodus 20 means, don't say God's name in a bad way, don't use it as an expletive, don't say it unless you're praying or talking about Him. However, I don't think that's actually what the Father meant when He gave this command.

So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin."
